Mari Detrixhe sent a copy of Gratitude to Radio Kansas. (Thank you, Mari!) I recently received an email from Michael Ables, Nightcrossings producer at Radio Kansas. He said, "Much of the music that you play fits well with the overall theme of the program and I'd like to put some tracks into rotation."

Starting January 16, 2012, I'm officially on the air, and have been each day this week! Be sure to check http://radiokansas.org/plnightcrossings.cfm for play lists.

Well...I just couldn't help tinkering with the music! I've spent another month in Australia and changed a few songs, added new ones and now have a different mix of Fur Elise Variations! Now, I just need to decide on the order I want the music, then it goes to mastering, and then production.

Just finished recording "Für Elise Variations" on the Stuart & Sons 102 key piano in Newcastle, Australia. 22 Tracks, approximately 51 minutes. Yeah! We still have to finish the mix and then get it mastered, duplicated, and all the other stuff, but the music has been recorded! I hope to release this before the summer is over.

I'm at the Stuart & Sons factory in Newcastle, Australia, where I've been recording my new version of Home on the Range & Prairie Hymn in honor of the State of Kansas' 150th Anniversary!

Il est né le divin enfant is a traditional French Christmas carol, and one of my favorite songs. I started an arrangement of this decades ago, but never quite finished it. While in Australia, I was inspired and took it in a new direction; in the last few months, I've finally finished it! I recorded the latest version at White Concert Hall at Washburn University in Topeka, KS last Friday, and I'm very happy with the result. This will ultimately be included on the Christmas CD I've started.

The piano version of Home on the Range premiered on the 4th of July, 2009. I have been asked to arrange this for a flute quartet, so we met and experimented a bit ... trying to capture the prairie wind. More work to be done, but I'm excited by what I've heard so far!

In January, I went back to Newcastle, Australia to work with the new 102-key Stuart piano. I went with no expectations... I just wanted to see how the piano spoke to me. This was probably the happiest and most productive 3 weeks I can remember!!! I was totally blown away by the sounds that are possible. I wrote material for three different projects, and the first project to be released will be Für Elise Variations in both print and CD formats. Join the email list and I'll let you know when it's ready! Thanks for your support! Marsha

This has been an exciting adventure working with "Thomas Paine" AKA Bob Basso in his "New Declaration of Independence" from the center of the continent, and heart of America, in Osborne, KS. I premiered my new piano arrangement of "Home on the Range", which was originally written not far from here in Smith Center, KS. It was a thrill to share the stage with Linus Sarver and to accompany opera star Paula Swornay from Los Angeles in this event. Paula and I have decided to collaborate on a new CD...details as soon as we have it all worked out!
